It’s been a busy, busy couple of weeks, with both Abby and parents/sister coming out here for overlapping weeks. Time really flies when you’re doing things nonstop, and the two weeks definitely went by way too fast!
Took in a bunch of Stampede events for the first time in the many years that I’ve been out here, which was kinda cool. Got a few mountain bike rides in during the week/weekend which was awesome. I’m absolutely loving my new bike (Salsa Spearfish), 29ers are definitely the way to go!! Went up to Fernie for the weekend, one of my favourite places in the world. Didn’t get super lucky with the weather, but we had a great Friday evening in Fernie, and Saturday afternoon up at the Dawson’s cabin in Jaffray.
Now Abby is in Mt Hood, and my parents and sister are back in Ottawa so it’s back to Calgary reality. Lab testing this morning and tomorrow morning to show us how the massive amounts of work we’ve been doing are paying off, and what we still need to work on. Testing is never very fun, but it’s cool to see how things progress throughout the summer and into the fall before the season takes full swing.
(Photos cred goes to Mama Cook!)
Checking out Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. Super awesome building and if you’re in Calgary this is a must to check out.
Abby and I
Took a bobsleigh aka freestyle roller coaster ride down the 1988 Olympic track. Now I understand why those guys love that sport! (Chris Spring, Team Canada II driver was our driver)
Trav and I enjoying a beverage up at the lake.
Rosen Lake is absolutely stunning, love it up there!
More proof of stunningness.
