I’ve been in Calgary for about a week now and have finally gotten all settled in. I’m living with my teammates Phil Brown and Ben Thomsen in a little place near the University. Nothing fancy but the location is money!
Last week we had three days of testing, which were kind of interesting because I was pretty sick for the first time ever at testing. We got down to business with the first two workouts of the season on Thursday and Friday. You know you haven’t worked out in a while when you’re still sore on Monday from a workout on Thursday! Also played my first two games of hockey in a couple months which was awesome as always.
Lots of new stuff happening with the dryland program this year. Can’t go into any specifics but it looks pretty awesome and I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays out and pays off.
Can’t forget my mini vacay in Tahoe before coming out here. Tahoe is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. Beaches, mountains, great weather (almost) all of the time. What more can you ask for?! Will definitely be going back next year!
Tons of snow up in the mountains, even though it was 20 degrees every day.
The view in Tahoe. I had a reallllllly hard time leaving.
3 young guys went to Costco….
New Athletic & Ice Complex being built at COP. 3 rinks are finished, can’t wait to see the rest completed!
Fuel For Gold. $5.25 each day for lunch. Special, healthy meals prepared for the athletes. Can’t ask for much more!
