Decided to try a different pair of skis for today’s training run. They worked for me in training at Lake Louise so why not. A little less sidecut and different construction than the ones I used first training run here, and for the race in Lake Louise.

Good thing I did that!

Those skis were definitely not made for tight and turny downhills and I was fighting with them the whole way down. But that’s one of the reasons for training runs: to test different equipement setups and see how they work. I ended up 51st on the training run, and wasn’t nearly as far back as I thought I would be with the run I had.

So for tomorrow’s race I’ll be back on ‘my babies’ and things should go a lot better.
