Since arriving home from Sölden last week I’ve been busy attending the annual Galas to raise money for various ski organizations. First up was a fundraiser at T&L for Ryan Semple and Pat Biggs on Thursday.
The following day was the SQA Press Conference in the morning, with the Gala happening that night. Its usually a pretty cool event with all the big names in Quebec ski racing, and some pretty awesome auction items. My family managed to snag an original results sheet from the 1968 Olympics! I also won the “Athlète relève de l’année” (Upcoming athlete of the year) for 2010. It was very cool to be recognized for the past season! On top of that, Mont Ste Marie won the “Club of the year” award, which is a first I believe. The best club around finally gets some recognition!
After that I spent the weekend in Morin-Heights with Mari, mainly just relaxing and taking part in some Halloween festivities. Now I’m at home for 5 days of dryland before heading out West to start pre season training at Nakiska. I came down with something a couple days ago and have been feeling pretty tired and sick, so hopefully whatever this is goes away soon!
